People who take levodopa medication may experience fluctuations in their motor symptoms due to their drugs wearing off.
The Re:Cognition Health team are investigating whether the compound IPX203 can help to reduce ‘off times’ for people with Parkinson’s who experience fluctuations throughout the day.
The aim of the research is to understand how effective and safe the potential treatment is for people with Parkinson’s.
What is involved?
You will firstly be asked to attend a screening visit where you will go through a number of assessments to check you are eligible to take part.
If you are eligible, the trial lasts 24 weeks in total and will involve regular contact with the researchers by phone and through visits to the research site.

Who do the researchers need?
420 people diagnosed with Parkinson’s who are over the age of 40 and on levodopa medication.
- Your first levodopa dose of the day must be at least 100mg.
- You must be taking levodpa more than 4 times a day.
- You need to experience wearing off of your medication and have no significant memory problems.
