Michele Hu is an Associate Professor at the Nuffield Department of Clinical Neurosciences, University of Oxford and Honorary Consultant Neurologist at Oxford University Hospitals.
In addition Michele leads the Parkinson’s UK Thames Valley regional Excellence Network that was created to give health and social care professionals the tools, resources and opportunities to collaborate so they could transform the quality of services delivered to people with Parkinson’s.
Michele notes that the Network is “A glorious opportunity to take wonderful ideas from professionals from around the regions and share and disseminate them more widely”.
Commenting on Fighting Fit Michele says “I think the programme looks excellent, and the website design is great! I can see that the PD nurse specialists are already notifying others of the course, and I think it will complement existing courses, such as First Steps very well”.
Fighting Fit is an innovative residential weekend programme for younger and working-age people with Parkinson’s that encourages self-management. The aim is to provide information and sign-posting, to share experiences and discuss the practical and emotional impact of living and working with Parkinson’s.
